Flag Day Celebration

About the 2024 Celebration

Paducah Parks & Recreation along with community partners will hold a Flag Day Celebration on Friday, June 14 from 9 until 10 a.m. at Dolly McNutt Memorial Plaza. The event will take place on the Washington Street side of the park at the flag pole.  

Events include a a flag raising ceremony, national anthem, flag displays and education, and remarks from city/county officials.  

Washington Street between 5th and 6th streets will be closed for the event.

Breakfast with the Bunny

2023 Event - On Saturday, April 1, at 8:30 a.m., the Easter Bunny will be hopping around the Paducah Recreation Center (1527 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive) visiting with guests for Breakfast with the Easter Bunny.  Guests can enjoy a pancake breakfast, decorate their pancakes with all sorts of goodies, take part in a craft station and bunny-themed games, and get to meet the Easter Bunny. Plus, the Easter Bunny will be available for pictures!

Gingerbread University

2023 Gingerbread University


Gingerbread University will be Saturday, December 16 at the Paducah Recreation Center (1527 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive) from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Parents can finish Christmas shopping or wrap presents while their children are enjoying a fun day of Christmas-themed activities, games, and crafts with Parks & Recreation Department staff.


Lunch will be provided.


Pumpkin Walk

2023 Pumpkin Walk

Paducah Parks & Recreation is hosting a Pumpkin Walk on the Peck Education Trail in Bob Noble Park this fall. Community members are invited to visit the Pumpkin Walk as a fun, safe, and festive way to celebrate the fall season. The 2023 Pumpkin Walk will be open daily until dusk from Friday, October 13 through Tuesday, October 31. Parking is available near the Nature Trail entrance and by the Noble Park Pool.

Tiny Tot Craft Series

About the Craft Series

Join us for the Tiny Tot Craft Series. This is a month-long craft series for kids ages five and younger and their parent/guardian held on Wednesdays from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. at the Paducah Recreation Center located at 1527 Martin Luther King. Tots will enjoy an arts and crafts activity and play time.

Cost is $15 per child (tax included).

Pre-registration is required as space is limited. Register online or call Parks & Recreation at 270-444-8508.

Photography Contests

 

Dog Park Photography Contest

Celebrate National Dog Park Day by participating in our Dog Park Photography Contest in May. Take a photo of your dog enjoying one of Paducah’s dog parks (Independence Park, Stuart Nelson Park (closing soon), or Noble Park (grand opening on May 14) and submit it to the Parks Department. The public will have a chance to vote on the entries with top photos receiving baskets with goodies for their dog.

Tiny Tot St. Patrick's Day Celebration

About the Celebration

Children 5 years old and younger are invited to celebrate St. Patrick's Day at the Paducah Recreation Center. There will be a craft, photo station, and games. 

Pre-registration is recommended as space is limited.  A parent/guardian is required to remain with their child during the celebration. Cost is $5 per child.

2024 Event - Wednesday, March 13 at 9:30 a.m. Registration opens February 1.

 

Peck Education Trail

About the Trail

The Peck Education Trail is a beautiful, wooded, nature trail in Bob Noble Park.  The half mile trail, which opened in December 2020, connects to a nature trail located in a wooded section of the park behind the Amphitheatre and near the Cairo Road park entrance. 

This project is funded entirely by the estate of J. Lane Peck through the Community Foundation of West Kentucky.
