Candy Cane Hunt

2023 Candy Cane Hunt 

The annual Candy Cane Hunt brought to you by Paducah Parks & Recreation and the Yeiser Art Center will be held Saturday, December 2 on the front lawn of the National Quilt Museum, 215 Jefferson Street. The entire event is free. Children ages 10 and under will race to find as many candy canes as they can and take part in the Yeiser Art Center Coloring Contest. Registration starts at 11:45 am. Children will receive a gift bag at registration while supplies last. The children will be divided into different age groups as they race to collect the more then 4,000 candy canes. There will be three hunts for different age groups. The candy canes are provided by sponsor, Banterra Bank.

The hunts will be at the following times:

  • 12:30 pm for ages 3 & under
  • 12:45 pm for ages 4 - 6
  • 1:00 pm for ages 7 - 10

Children can take part in the Yeiser Art Center Coloring Contest anytime from noon until 1:15 pm. They can color their sheet onsite and turn it in before leaving or turn it in to Yeiser Art Center before 5 pm that day. Winners will be announced the week after the event with prizes for the winning entries.

The National Quilt Museum will also be offering free admission to children 12 and under with a paid adult following the event.

2nd Street will be closed to traffic between Jefferson and Monroe Street for the safety of our participants. We encourage you to park at the Farmers' Market parking lot with the entrance on the intersection of 2nd and Monroe.

The Candy Cane Hunt was awarded Kentucky Recreation & Park Society's Class IV Program of the Year in 2019.
