Community Resource Officer

Gretchen Morgan

The Paducah Police Department has an officer assigned full-time to liaise between the department and the community and citizens it serves.  Officer Gretchen Morgan is the police department’s Community Resource Officer.  She makes presentations to community groups and organizations, increasing awareness about the resources our department has to offer to the community.  As Community Resource Officer, Morgan also coordinates community events such as Coffee With a Cop, National Night Out, Neighborhood Watch groups, etc.

Morgan has been a DARE instructor and was instrumental in putting together the award-winning "Heads Up! Don’t Be Intexticated" anti-distracted driving campaign with now-retired Captain Don Hodgson and her long-time friend, Hillary Coltharp.

Officer Morgan in addition to other officers coordinate the Christmas Cops program.  Needy families are selected for this annual program whic served 27 families and 59 children in 2014.
