Gayle Kaler was elected Paducah's Mayor in November 2012. She served one term as mayor.  Previously she served three terms as City Commissioner beginning in 2007. 

A business owner, Mayor Kaler owns Chantillies located at 540 North 32nd Street.  

Mayor Kaler is a member of the Greater Paducah Sustainability (GPS)-Recycle Now and a former member of the Paducah Rotary Club.  When she served as City Commissioner, she served on the Airport Board, Commissioners of Water Works, and the Paducah Riverfront Development Authority.  Her past community involvement includes a four year term as the first president of the LowerTown Renaissance Association.

Mayor Kaler created several initiatives in the City of Paducah including the Young Professionals Committee, Mayor's Anti-Bullying Task Force, the Mayor's Art Club, the Mayor's Book Club, and the Mayor's Student Christmas Ornament Contest.

Mayor Kaler is married to Andrew Kaler, and they reside in LowerTown.  She is a member of Fountain Avenue United Methodist Church.

She has one daughter Courtney Spencer, who attended the Paducah Public School System and graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Master's Degree in Mass Communication Planning.  Courtney, her husband Jon, and their daughter Birdie live and work in Richmond, Virginia.
