The City of Paducah applies for several government grants per year for various projects that are of a significant public benefit. Grants applied for by the City are limited to grants that benefit a large area of the public, city-owned properties, or city run programs. Limited assistance to non-profit agencies is also a common occurrance. For most government type grants, a local govenment agency must be a partner in the project. In most instances, the non-profit agency will supply the grant writer/administrator with information and the city will assist with the financial administration of the grant. Limited consultations and technical assistance may be available to citizens and non-profits of Paducah/McCracken County by contacting Grants Administrator Ty Wilson in the Administration Department (270-444-8504).
In addition to govenment sponsored grants, many private corporations offer grants to private individuals, non-profits, or similar organizations. For information on these types of grants you may contact the Community Foundation of West Kentucky at 270-442-8622.
