Paducah Parks & Recreation and the Paducah Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution are holding the third annual I Heart Presidents Day on Saturday, February 10. The free event that celebrates Presidents Day will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Robert Cherry Civic Center. Kids and families can attend at any time during that three hour time period. There will be free snacks and gift bags while supplies last.
Recreation Specialist Taylor Morsching says, “Paducah Parks & Recreation and the local Daughters of the American Revolution chapter have been great partners for putting on this one of a kind event that celebrates Presidents Day. Together, we are able to host fun activities for the whole family that are also educational and remind us of our great American culture.”
Kids of all ages will have the opportunity to make crafts while learning about different presidents and early American culture. Specific activities include writing a letter to the President, taking a presidential portrait in costume, making an Abe Lincoln log cabin and top hat, crafting a tricorn or mob cap, presidential bingo, and more.
Presidents Day, also called Washington’s Birthday, is officially celebrated the third Monday of February.
