A Tennessee man was arrested early today after he fled on foot from a traffic stop and entered a nearby building to hide.

Officer Daniel Kimball reported he stopped a vehicle on North 10th Street and spoke with the driver, then returned to his police cruiser to obtain computer information about the man. He said he looked up and saw the driver get out of the car and run down 10th Street. Kimball chased the man, but lost sight of him around Monroe Street.

Officer Lofton Rowley and his K9 partner, Fox, initiated a track and Fox located the driver hiding inside a garage behind a business on Jefferson Street.

The man, identified as Mario S. Allen, had a bag of marijuana in his possession. A computer check revealed he is charged in a felony warrant from Paris, TN.

Allen was arrested and booked into McCracken County Regional Jail.
