Suspect: Brandon Spann, 30, of Farwood Drive, arrested on charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, and on McCracken County warrants charging him with first-degree burglary, first-degree wanton endangerment, second-degree assault and second-degree criminal mischief

A McCracken County man was arrested after the vehicle in which he was riding was stopped by police, and he was found to be in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

The vehicle in which Brandon Spann was riding was stopped at 11:09 p.m. Sunday on Old Mayfield Road. Officer Will Gilbert noticed Spann was hiding something in his hand. When Gilbert questioned him, Spann handed the officer a used methamphetamine pipe wrapped in napkins and a plastic bag.

Spann also had in his possession a prescription bottle containing two doses of suspected LSD wrapped in aluminum foil. At Spann’s feet, Gilbert found a black bag containing various items of drug paraphernalia and a plastic container with methamphetamine residue in it.

A computer check showed Spann was charged in four warrants by the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department with first-degree burglary, first-degree wanton endangerment, second-degree assault and second-degree criminal mischief, so officers served those warrants, as well.

Spann was booked into McCracken County Regional Jail.
