The 2017 City of Paducah Christmas Parade will be held Saturday, December 2 in downtown Paducah.
The parade begins at 5 p.m. at 14th and Broadway and travels down Broadway until it turns left at 2nd Street. The parade will then travel down second until it reaches Monroe where it will disband. Parade participants are encouraged to continue moving down 2nd Street toward the Farmers’ Market pavilion to maintain the flow of the parade.
The theme of the 2017 Christmas Parade is Let it Glow, Let it Glow, Let it Glow. Music and lights are required on all parade entries. Santa Claus will make a special appearance at the end of the parade on the official Santa float and will be available for photos after the parade at the downtown gazebo.
The deadline to enter a float is Tuesday, November 7th at 5pm. Late entries will incur a $25 penalty fee. Entries will not be accepted after November 14th.
Parade entries will marshal on Broadway between 14th and Fountain Avenue, on Fountain Avenue between Broadway and Jefferson, and on Jefferson between 14th and Fountain Avenue. Streets will be closed in the staging area beginning at 2:30 p.m. on December 2. Streets along the parade route will close at 3:30 p.m. The Parks and Recreation Department also asks the public to refrain from parking in the parade preparation area from 2 to 6 p.m. to help limit the congestion of vehicles and floats.
Parade participants will be given their parade packets, numbers, and line up information at a parade meet and greet at the Parks and Recreation office located at 1400 H.C. Mathis Drive November 21st. Any questions can be discussed at this time. All participants should send a representative to pick up their packet at this meeting.
