SMOKE ALARMS:  The Paducah Fire Department will install smoke alarms at no charge to Paducah residents.  To make an appointment for firefighters to come to your home and install a smoke alarm, call (270) 444-8521.

RECYCLING:  The City of Paducah recycles yard waste at its Compost Facility at 1560 North 8th Street.  Residents can drop off bagged or loose leaves, tree trimmings, and brush.   Compost and wood chips are available for purchase.  Click Recycling for information about recycling opportunities in the City of Paducah including the compost facility, GPS-Recycle Now volunteer organization, and private recycling organizations.

OAK GROVE CEMETERY:  The city-owned cemetery established in 1847 is approximately 100 acres.  Oak Grove Cemetery has an estimated 35,278 platted lots.  For more information about the cemetery, the renovations at the mausoleum, burial records, genealogy, and a map, click Oak Grove Cemetery or contact the Research and Information Center, 1613 Park Avenue (270) 444-5155.  The cemetery is a wireless hotspot.

WIRELESS HOT SPOTS:  The City of Paducah has 8 free wireless hotspot locations for internet use.  The locations are the Paducah-McCracken County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Dolly McNutt Plaza, the riverfront, Texaco Station Information Center in LowerTown, skatepark in Noble Park, Noble Park swimming pool area, Robert Cherry Civic Center, and Oak Grove Cemetery.  For more information and a map, click Wireless Hot Spots. 

PROPERTY TAX INFO:  The City of Paducah property tax rate is $0.25 per $100 of assessed property value.  Click Property Tax, for more information on how your property tax bill is calculated and how the money is distributed.

SENIOR CITIZENS CENTER:  The Paducah McCracken County Senior Citizens Center is located at 1400 H.C. Mathis Drive.  The Center is open from 8am-4pm and provides hot lunches, classes, dances, and other events for Seniors.  Call (270) 443-8579 for more information.

TREE CONTRACTOR TIPS:  Click Tree Contractor for everything you need to know before you hire a company to trim your trees.  The contractor is responsible for removal of the tree limbs and debris.  The City of Paducah charges to collect limbs and debris that are left behind by a contractor.
