Fun Run and Parade Route Map: The parade route is yellow; the marshalling area is green; and the parade disbanding area is red.
The 2015 City of Paducah Christmas Parade will be held Saturday, December 5 in downtown Paducah. The parade begins at 5 p.m. at 14th and Broadway and travels down Broadway until it turns left at 7th Street. The parade will then turn right on Jefferson Street and continue to 2nd Street where it will disband. Parade participants are encouraged to continue moving on 2nd Street toward the Farmers’ Market pavilion to maintain the flow of the parade. This change in route is due to the building demolition project at 5th and Broadway.
Be sure to either take part or watch the Ugly Christmas Sweater Fun Run at 4:30 p.m. as runners and walkers go down Broadway wearing their ugliest Christmas sweater. Music and lights are required on all parade entries. Santa Claus will make a special appearance at the end of the parade on the official Santa float and will be available for photos after the parade at the downtown gazebo.
Parade entries will marshal on Broadway between 14th and Fountain Avenue, on Fountain Avenue between Broadway and Jefferson, and on Jefferson between 14th and Fountain Avenue. Streets will be closed in the staging area beginning at 3 p.m. on December 5. Streets along the parade route will close at 4 p.m. The Parks Services Department also asks the public to refrain from parking in the parade preparation area from 3 to 6 p.m. to help limit the congestion of vehicles and floats.
