Boaters' Choice logoMarinas.com has notified the City of Paducah that Paducah’s Transient Boat Dock is a recipient of the 2021 Boaters’ Choice Award.  This is the fifth consecutive year for Paducah to receive the award which honors marinas and docks that consistently provide an excellent home for the boating community and received the most praise throughout the year from boaters.

City Manager Daron Jordan, an avid boater, said, “We are honored to receive this recognition of our ability to provide a safe, reliable, and accessible port for boaters. Our team understand that sometimes water travel can be stressful.  We strive to provide an exceptional and welcoming experience for those using our facilities while visiting our community. We are pleased to learn that our team is accomplishing that goal.”

Parks & Recreation Department Director Amie Clark said, “We are thankful for the boaters who visited Paducah during 2021 and grateful for their positive reviews to Marinas.com leading to our 5th Boaters’ Choice Award.  We value each review since it provides valuable feedback about our amenities, service, and opportunities to improve.  I also want to thank the great team of Parks & Recreation employees who work to assist boaters and keep the docking facility clean and operational.  I am so proud to see the reviews about our customer service efforts.”

The Boaters’ Choice Award is based on reviews by boaters.  To be recognized, each facility had to receive at least three reviews averaging a rating of four or more stars out of five stars.

Below are a few of the reviews posted by boaters who enjoyed Paducah’s amenities in 2021.

  • Great stop. We enjoyed the beautiful City of Paducah and had lots of fun there.
  • We were greeted and assisted at the dock by John. It was like we were old friends. The facility is great and the town welcoming. Each day here the staff worked with us and others to make room for the next to arrive. In the height of the Looper season they are ready for us. Thank you!
  • This was a welcome respite coming off the Ohio. John, the dock master will go way beyond expectations to accommodate virtually any need or request. Easy on and off the river with first class facilities. The docks are literally steps away from the incredible Lowertown area of Paducah. With so much to see and do in a historic district this should be considered as a multi-day stop.
  • Very pleased with the dock set up and Adam's help in securing our boat. Loved the walk-ability of Paducah and the attractions. The National Quilt Museum is a must see, as well as the River Discovery Center. Dinner at Doe's was delicious! Highly recommend a multi night layover!
  • The service was excellent. The dock is great. The town is outstanding. Highly recommend it.

In 2021, Paducah’s Dock had 491 reservations with boaters spending a total of 847 nights.  These numbers increased significantly as compared to 2020 (72 reservations with boaters spending a total of 134 nights) and 2019 (358 reservations for a total of 554 nights).

Paducah’s 340-foot long boat dock is located downstream from the heart of historic downtown Paducah and provides space for boaters to enjoy Paducah by spending a few hours or several nights.  Amenities include fuel (diesel and marine grade gasoline) and power pedestals.  The availability of water and the sewer pumpout station is seasonal with both of those amenities currently drained and winterized to prevent the freezing of pipes.

According to its website, Marinas.com provides boaters with comprehensive information on more than 75,000 marinas, anchorages, and marine locations.
