Temporary Closure of Nolan Drive to Replace Pipe

Date of Release:
March 28, 2024

Beginning Monday, April 1, a section of Nolan Drive will be closed to traffic for the replacement of a 96-inch storm pipe. The pipe crossing under Nolan Drive approximately 350 feet from the intersection with Lone Oak Road has deteriorated. The contractor working for the City of Paducah, Jim Smith Contracting, will replace the 96-inch pipe to improve stormwater flow.

To complete the work, crews will close Nolan Drive at the site of the pipe replacement. This work will not affect the businesses on Lone Oak Road; however, no traffic will be permitted into the neighborhood from Nolan Drive, and residents will need to find an alternate route. The neighborhood can be accessed from Elmdale Road and Bleich Road.

The work to replace the 96-inch pipe is expected to be completed in one week, weather-permitting. Asphalt paving of the project area will occur later this spring.

Please use caution, watch for the work crews, and respect the traffic control devices.

The City of Paducah maintains more than 220 miles of streets.
