Paducah Recreation Center

Paducah Recreation Center exteriorThe Paducah Recreation Center is located at 1527 Martin Luther King Jr., Drive in the historic Fountain Avenue Neighborhood.  The facility includes a gymnasium, stage, kitchen, conference room, and classrooms. We recommend the Robert Cherry Civic Center for larger events including banquets, dances, concerts, etc.

The Paducah Recreation Center is available for reservations involving sports or recreation activities. A Paducah Recreation Center Application Form must be completed and turned into the Parks & Recreation Office at 1400 HC Mathis Drive to be conisdered. More information can be found on the form. 

Annual Membership

Annual membership to the Paducah Recreation Center is $20 for 2018 for either an individual or the entire family (a family consists of parents/guardians and their children). 2018 Membership are also now available! Classes and activities included in the $20 membership at no extra cost include Open Gym, Walking Club, Basketball Open Gym, Volleyball Open Gym, Futsal Open Gym, and more. Beginning January 1, 2018 members will have to purchase an additional $10 activity punch pass for 20 visits to Chair Yoga, Chair Chi Yoga, Mat Yoga, Funky Fitness, Mid-East Dance, Dance and Tone, and other select classes. You can also pay as you go at the rate of $1 for one class.

Although a membership is still required to participate, sports leagues, sports tournaments, and special events are excluded in the cost for membership and will have additional registration fees. Call Paducah Parks and Recreation at 270-444-8508 for more information.  2018 Memberships can be purchased at any time throughout the upcoming year and they are valid until the end of 2018. 2017 Memberships expire on December 31, 2017. There is a $5 charge if you need to replace your ID badge anytime throughout the year.

  • Monday - Friday morning hours vary depending on the classes offered. Please check the calendar above for specific times.
  • Monday -  Thursday: Open Gym is 2:30 - 5:15 daily  -   During Open Gym hours, only half court is permitted. People at open gym must be willing to share the gym with other individuals and groups.  Upon Parks and Recreation discretion, center will be closed for certain team practices.  Check back regularly for our most current schedule. 
  • Monday - Thursday 5:15 - 6:15 pm - Classes use the entire gym floor. Mid-East Dance on Thursdays and Funky Fitness on Tuesday - Wednesday.
  • Monday -  Thursday   6:30 - 10 pm    -   Sport specific Open Gyms (Must be at least 16 years +).  Check below for schedule.
  • Friday 5:15 - 10 pm - CLOSED                  
  • Saturday - CLOSED
  • Sunday - Volleyball Open Gym: 1:30 -4:30 pm - Facility may close early due to lack of participation. 

Schedule of Activities

Futsal Open Gym is on Tuesdays from 6:30 - 10:00 pm. Basketball Open Gym is on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30 - 10:00pm. Volleyball Open Gym is on Thursday from 6:30 - 10 pm and Sundays from 1:30 - 4:30 pm. No childcare is provided during these activities.

Children under 10 years are not permitted entry unless supervised by an adult who is not participating in open gym.

Chair Yoga, Mat Yoga, Dance and Tone, Mid-East Dance, Zumba, and Chair Chi Yogai - ongoing classes meet on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Check out the monthly calendar for exact times. All members will have to purchase an additional $10 activity punch pass for 20 visits to Chair Yoga, Tai Chi, Mat Yoga, Funky Fitness, Mid-East Dance, Sculpt and Tone, and other select classes. * 2018 Memberships are $20.00 for an entire year.

Facility Rules

  • Must wear athletic shoes on gym floor
  • Must sign in upon entry and present Member ID card
  • No dunking or hanging on rims of basketball goals
  • Equipment must be checked out at the office
  • Equipment must be signed back in at the office before leaving the facility
  • No profanity
  • No rough housing
  • Must follow additional game rules during league play
  • Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult, except during after school hour programming (3:30-5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday)

Facility Amenities

Amenities:  The Paducah Recreation Center features a sport court for basketball, volleyball, floor hockey, futsal, and many more activities.  A conference room is available next to the court that also serves as a yoga classroom.  The conference room has a pass-through area to the large kitchen.  In the kitchen, you'll find a refrigerator, work island, a double oven, two stoves, sink, and warming containers.  The kitchen has a concession opening to the sports court.  At the end of the court is a stage.  Upstairs, you'll find a large open area that is open to the court below in addition to a smaller open area, both perfect for classes.  The restroom facilities includes a shower.
