To allow for the setup and enjoyment of the 22nd Ever Barbeque on the River Festival, several roads will be closed in downtown Paducah. Please note that all streets are subject to early closure due to safety reasons as determined by the Paducah Police Department. The festival is September 22-24 with the ticketed fundraising event, Porkstock, during the evening of September 21.
In addition to the food and non-food vendors, there will be three stages of entertainment. The Farmers’ Market stage will be on the 200 block of Broadway and will provide musical and dancing entertainment during the evenings. The other stages are the main stage along the floodwall and the 2nd Street stage. This is the second year for the partnership with the Farmers’ Market. Enjoy a full market of Farmers’ Market vendors along Broadway on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. with live entertainment that evening. The intersections at Broadway and 4th Street and Broadway and 5th Street may be closed at some times during the festival. Shuttle service will be provided from Carson Park Thursday and Friday, 4-10 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m.-10 p.m. The shuttle will take festival goers from Carson Park to a drop off point behind the empty lot that previously housed a nursing facility on North 3rd Street. Accessible parking is located behind the Finkel’s building (enter lot from Washington Street).
United Way 5K: The 22nd Annual United Way 5K and Youth 1 Mile Race is Saturday, September 24. The races will start near the Paducah Bank main office at 555 Jefferson Street. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. in the Paducah Bank parking lot. The 5K race begins at 9 a.m. with the youth race around 10 a.m.
Lanes of traffic will be blocked for the safety of the runners. The 5K course starts on Jefferson Street mid-way between North 5th and 6th Streets. Runners will proceed west on Jefferson Street using the right lane, turn right on North 19th Street, run three blocks, and then turn right on Harrison Street. Runners will then turn right on North 14th Street, then left on Madison Street, left on North 13th, and then right on Harrison. They will follow Harrison until they turn right onto North 5th Street. The finish line is on North 5th Street mid-way between Jefferson and Monroe.
