The Parks Services Department’s final concert in the FREE six-concert RIVERfront Concert Series will be Thursday, August 18. Enjoy sounds, sunset, and summertime with Murray-based Big Atomic hitting Wilson Stage on Paducah’s riverfront from 6 until 7 p.m. and then Ripe, a funk/pop band out of Boston, Massachusetts from 7 until 8:30 p.m.
Ripe is a seven member band that incorporates the fun sounds of a trombone, trumpet, EWI, and bass into their music. The members are passionate about uniting the funk and psychedelic sounds from the past with the modern sounds that make people want to move and groove. Ripe has released its second EP, Hey Hello, and plans to start recording a full-length album in the next few months.
Water, Pepsi products and beverages from local craft beer breweries are available for purchase. The Parks Department thanks community partners, Paducah Beer Werks, Dry Ground Brewing Company, Maiden Alley Cinema, and Save the Columbia Theatre, for working to add the beverages to the concert evening.
