Three western Kentucky residents were arrested today in connection with two separate strong-armed robberies.

The first robbery occurred at about 11:10 p.m. Tuesday. A resident of Olivet Church Road told police he was walking to a liquor store nearby when he was attacked by a man and woman. He said the two assaulted him and took $170 from him. The victim had apparent minor injuries, and was transported to Lourdes Hospital for treatment.

Sometime later, Kyle Zervas and Cherie N. Dixon were involved in a disturbance at the same location where the victim was robbed. Their clothing and physical description matched a description of the robbers’ provided by the victim, and the victim identified their vehicles.

Zervas and Dixon were arrested at 1:58 p.m. today on charges of second-degree robbery. They were booked into McCracken County Regional Jail.

At 11:39 a.m. today, officers were notified of a robbery on Koerner Street. An elderly man told officers he was walking in the door of his home when he was shoved from behind. He said his wallet was taken from his back pocket. The victim sustained a cut to his forehead when he was knocked to the ground. The victim said he was familiar with the robber, and provided a description of a white man, wearing a dark coat, white shirt and a hoodie.

Officer saw a man matching that description running between Koerner Street and Bridge Court. They said the man jumped a fence into the Dolly McNutt apartment complex, and took off the jacket he was wearing. That man, Alfred H. Capuano, was detained. He admitted being in the area and knowing the victim through an ex-girlfriend. Capuano was arrested on a charge of first-degree robbery and booked into McCracken County Regional Jail.
