Compost Facility Accepts Leaves

Date of release:  December 1, 2017

The City of Paducah wants residents to be aware that the Compost Facility located at 1560 North 8th Street will accept bags of leaves and loose leaves from Paducah residents and from private contractors who performed work bagging leaves at a City residence.

However, the facility is not accepting deliveries of large brush items and tree limbs at this time.

Assistant Public Works Director Chris Yarber says, “Solid Waste and Street Division crews are working around the City collecting bags of leaves.  However, we know that many residents would like to dispose of their bags of leaves as quickly as possible.  The Compost Facility is an excellent option for a resident to use.”

The facility has wood chips and compost available for purchase by the bucket load.  An approximately two yard bucket load of wood chips is $10 while the compost costs $20.

The regular operating schedule for the Compost Facility is Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.  It is closed on Sunday.
