Milling and Paving on Broadway and around Paducah Middle

Starting Thursday, September 5, a contractor will begin the milling and paving of Broadway from 28th Street toward the railroad trestle near 31st Street.  Milling and paving work also will begin either late this week or early next week near Paducah Middle School, specifically 31st Street from Clark to Jackson Street and Clark Street from Lone Oak Road to 31st Street.  The milling and paving should take approximately one week to complete, weather-permitting.

During the street resurfacing work, crews expect to keep one lane of traffic open.  However, for the safety of the crews, drivers are urged to find an alternate route on each of these projects.  Please use caution, and watch for the work crews and traffic control devices.

This street rehabilitation project is part of the City of Paducah’s annual street improvement plan.  Part of the funding is provided through the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s Municipal Aid Program (MAP).  MAP funds are collected from the State gas tax and are allocated for maintenance, reconstruction, or construction of city streets.  The City of Paducah maintains approximately 220 miles of streets.  If you have a question, please call the Engineering-Public Works Department at 444-8511.
