Date of release: August 13, 2019
Effective Wednesday, August 14, the public will have limited access to Paducah’s riverfront from the floodwall openings at Broadway and Kentucky. Both floodwall openings will experience intermittent closures to allow crews to repair riverfront damage. The City of Paducah Engineering-Public Works Department has secured contractors to repair the concrete and deliver loads of rip-rap to fill portions of the riverbank. Crews hope to complete the work on Wednesday; however, the project may extend into Thursday.
The damage to the riverfront occurred due to the docking of riverboats during recent high river stages on the Ohio River.
If you have a question, please call the Engineering-Public Works Department at 270-444-8511.
