The Paducah Parks Services Department is postponing the Annual Easter Egg Dash until Tuesday, April 11 due to today’s threat of severe thunderstorms.  Also, the Noble Park baseball/softball fields are soggy due to the recent rainy weather conditions.

The Easter Egg Dash is a race for children to pick up as many eggs as they can after the whistle blows.  Bring your Easter baskets or a sack because there will be plenty of eggs to collect. The children race with their age groups to pick up 15,000 candy-filled eggs that are spread across the ball fields.

Registration for the free event begins at 5 p.m. at the Noble Park baseball/softball fields.  Age groups for the Easter Egg Dash are 0-2 years, 3-5 years, 6-8 years, and 9-10 years.  Age groups dash in 15-minute increments beginning with the 0-2 year olds at 5:45 p.m. and concluding with the 9-10 year olds at 6:30 p.m.

Goody bags will be available for the first 500 children.  Plus, there will be prize eggs hidden on each field. Children who find a prize egg should visit the registration desk for an additional prize.

Paducah Parks Services thanks the volunteers from the Paducah Young Professionals (PYP), a division of the Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce, who will be helping to make this event a success.
