City of Paducah 2016 Holiday Trash, Brush, Recycling, and Compost Schedule--Christmas Tree Recycling

Below are the changes to the Engineering-Public Works Department’s brush and trash collection schedule for upcoming holidays.  As a reminder, please place your trash container at its designated collection point no later than 4 a.m. on the scheduled day of pickup.                                              

  • Trash and Brush:  There will be NO residential trash collection on Friday, December 23 or Friday, December 30.  Friday’s routes will be done on Thursday, December 22 and Thursday, December 29 along with the Thursday routes.  There will be no leaf or brush collection on Monday, December 26 or Monday, January 2. 
  • Temporary Recycling Facility:  The temporary recycling drop-off facility located at 920 Burnett Street will be closed December 23, 24, 26, 30, 31, and January 2.  The normal schedule for the facility is Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon.  Please note that this facility will be closing to the public on January 31, 2017.  There is no charge for the public to drop off recyclables.
  • New Freedom Waste Recycling Facility:  The recycling drop-off facility operated by Freedom Waste located at 400 State Street will be closed to the public on Christmas day and New Year’s Day.  The facility is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon.  There is no charge for the general public to drop off recyclables.
  • Compost Facility and Christmas Tree Recycling:  To dispose of a live Christmas tree, the City of Paducah urges residents to recycle by taking the tree to the Compost Facility located at 1560 North 8th Street during regular business hours.  The facility is open Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m.-3 p.m.  It will be closed December 23, 24, 26, 30, 31 and January 2.  Please remove all lights, garland, and ornaments before taking the tree to the Compost Facility.  Residents also can dispose of trees by placing them next to their garbage. Due to an overabundance of material, the Compost Facility will be closing to the public until further notice at the end of the business day on Monday, January 9.
