Paducah police now are able to release the names of two young men involved in a fatal traffic crash on Alben Barkley Drive Wednesday morning.
Preliminary investigation shows that Dequan J. Shoales was driving west when he lost control of his Grand Prix and slid sideways across the centerline into the path of oncoming traffic. The Grand Prix was hit broadside by a pickup truck driven east by Chance J. Davidson.
Shoales was taken to Lourdes Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Davidson and his passenger, Jacob Perry, 17, of Wingo, KY, were taken to Baptist Health Paducah for treatment.
The crash is being investigated by the Paducah Police Department’s Collision Reconstruction Team. Alben Barkley Drive was shut down for several hours after the crash due to the investigation.
