Thanks to surveillance photographs, the young woman who stole merchandise from a midtown Paducah business is facing charges this morning.
Cynthia L. McKibben, 21, of Paducah came to the police department Thursday afternoon after her employer showed her the photographs that were shared by local news media and on social media.
McKibben admitted taking the items Wednesday morning from Uniform Headquarters, 232 Lone Oak Road.
Officer Brian Kopischke obtained a summons this morning charging McKibben with theft by unlawful taking (less than $500). He plans to serve the summons today.

Paducah police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a woman who stole merchandise from a midtown business Wednesday.
The owner of Uniform Headquarters told police the young woman came into the business Wednesday morning, selected a bag and used it to conceal an undetermined amount of scrub tops and pants. She then walked out of the business with the bag and fled. Amount of the theft is more than $200.
Anyone with information about the woman’s identity is asked to call the Paducah Police Department at 270-444-8550 or Crime Stoppers at 270-443-TELL. Tipsters also may access the Online Tip Form. Information leading to an arrest or indictment may result in a reward of up to $1,000.
