A West Paducah woman was charged after a two-vehicle collision that snarled traffic this morning at a busy Paducah intersection.
Witnesses said Hannah R. Klope was driving south on U.S. 45 and failed to stop at a red light at the intersection with the Interstate 24 off-ramp. Lindsey C. Walker was crossing U.S. 45 on the off-ramp and had a green light. She said as she entered the intersection, Klope’s vehicle ran the red light and she could not avoid a collision.
Officer Paul Stevenson reported that Klope was somewhat incoherent and could not remember what happened. She told Stevenson she takes several prescription medications. She was taken into custody and transported to Lourdes Hospital, where she consented to a blood test. She was cited on a charge of driving under the influence and released to the care of the hospital.
Walker was transported by ambulance to Lourdes Hospital for treatment of reported non-incapacitating injuries.
