The City of Paducah adopted a new ordinance in February 2026, effective April 1, 2026, allowing golf carts to operate on City of Paducah streets with posted speed limits of 25 miles per hour or less. Golf carts cannot operate on state-maintained roads, but they may cross city and state roadways at intersections where the speed limit is 35 mph or lower.

The Paducah Police Department's Drug Unit engages in covert and overt operations in an effort to combat dangerous drugs, prescription drug abuse, and related activity in the Paducah area. The Drug Unit is primarily responsible for the seizure of narcotics and the forfeiture of assets belonging to drug traffickers. The drug problem in our country is complex and not easily managed by the work of front-line patrol officers who have to respond to other calls for service.
The Support Services Division of the Paducah Police Department includes the Drug Unit, the General Investigations Unit (GIU), Digital Forensics Unit, Crime Analyst, Deflection Team, Paducah-McCracken County 911, and Records and Evidence Unit. These units are led by the Assistant Chief of Support Services.
