The seventh annual I Heart Presidents Day will be Saturday, February 12. The free event that celebrates Presidents Day will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Paducah Parks & Recreation Office located at 1400 HC Mathis Drive. Kids and families can attend at any time during that three hour time period. There will be free snacks and gift bags while supplies last. This event is organized by Paducah Parks & Recreation and the Paducah Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.

Recreation Superintendent Taylor Morsching says, “We are happy to hold I Heart Presidents Day as an in-person event this year with fun presidential-themed activities for the whole family that are educational and remind us of our great American culture. We will have new games this year in addition to the favorite activities such as story time with George Washington and making a tricorn hat or mob cap.”

Kids of all ages will have the opportunity to make crafts while learning about different presidents and early American culture. Specific activities include writing a letter to the President, taking a presidential portrait in costume, making an Abe Lincoln log cabin, crafting a tricorn or mob cap, coloring, and more.

Presidents Day, also called Washington’s Birthday, is officially celebrated the third Monday of February.
