In observance of the Labor Day holiday on Monday, September 7, the City of Paducah has several announcements on available services and any modified schedules.
- City Hall and City Offices | City Hall, located at 300 South 5th Street, and other City offices will be closed Monday, September 7.
- Compost Facility | The City of Paducah Compost Facility, located at 1560 North 8th Street, will be closed Monday, September 7.
- Garbage and Curbside Recycling Collection | Garbage and curbside recycling collection schedules will NOT change during the Labor Day week.
- Sprayground and Splashpad | The Robert Coleman Sprayground at the corner of Walter Jetton Boulevard and Husbands Street and the Splashpad at the Pat & Jim Brockenborough Rotary Health Park located at 421 North 13th Street are open daily 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. including Labor Day.
Labor Day Parade Conducted by Western Kentucky Labor Day Committee
The Labor Day Parade, conducted by the Western Kentucky Labor Day Committee, will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, September 7. The theme of this year’s parade is Red, White, & Blue! Built by You – Paducah Unions.
The parade, which attracts on average 40 to 60 entries, will follow Broadway beginning at 13th Street and will continue downtown to 2nd and Broadway where it will disband.
The parade route will close by 9 a.m. with the staging area and surrounding streets closing at 8 a.m. Streets will remain closed until the parade has safely passed.
After the parade, the celebration will continue until 3 p.m. in the Farmers' Market parking lot at North 2nd and Jefferson featuring live music, a car show, inflatables, and food vendors.
