Invitation to Serve on Boards - Barkley Regional Airport Authority and Forest Hills Village Board of Directors are Seeking Board Members

Date of Release:
June 18, 2026

Paducah Mayor George Bray is inviting interested citizens to apply to serve on local boards and commissions. Currently, the City is seeking volunteers for the Barkley Regional Airport Authority Board and the Forest Hills Village Board of Directors.

“Boards and commissions are essential to good local government, and public service at the local level is one of the most meaningful ways to make a lasting impact on our city and county,” said Mayor George Bray. "Serving on a board gives residents a direct voice in the decisions that affect our community every day and affords them the opportunity to influence outcomes. The diverse skillsets and experiences represented on these boards bring valuable expertise, fresh ideas, and a variety of perspectives to the table."

Boards and Commissions Application

About the Barkley Regional Airport Authority | The Barkley Regional Airport Authority is seeking a board member with commercial development experience to help guide strategic growth opportunities at and around the airport. As McCracken County grows, the Authority is focused on planning and investment to position the airport for future development and to meet the region’s transportation and economic needs.

A key priority for the Authority is the redevelopment of the former airport terminal site, with a focus on attracting air logistics and aviation-related businesses. In addition, acreage surrounding the new terminal remains available for commercial development.

About the Forest Hills Village (FHV) Board of Directors | The Forest Hills Village Board is seeking to appoint two members with experience in property management, rental housing, real estate development, or related fields. These appointments will support the Board’s ongoing efforts to evaluate and strengthen the community’s long-term housing strategy.

Forest Hills housing was originally developed several decades ago to accommodate population growth associated with the construction and operation of the Department of Energy facility. As much of this housing stock approaches the end of its original design life, the Board is undertaking a comprehensive assessment of existing structures to identify needed upgrades, redevelopment opportunities, and potential new construction projects. The Board recognizes the need for a long-term plan that addresses both current and future housing demands.

Apply to Serve on a Board | Those interested in serving should complete the application packet by Friday, July 31. If you have a question, reach out to Assistant City Clerk Claudia Meeks at 270-444-8507 or by email. An application packet can be found at Boards and Commissions. Mayor Bray will discuss these opportunities with anyone interested.

The City of Paducah appoints members to more than 30 boards and commissions.
