About Mental Health Month
May is Mental Health Month. The City of Paducah wants to increase the public’s awareness that mental health conditions, such a depression or anxiety, are real, common, and treatable. We are working to create a community that promotes mental wellness and supports prevention efforts.
In a proclamation for Mental Health Awareness Month, which was presented at the April 25 City Commission Meeting, Paducah is urging all citizens, government agencies, in addition to public and private institutions to increase awareness and understanding of mental illnesses, reduce stigma and discrimination, and promote appropriate and accessible services.

Mental Health America Free Online Screening Tool
This online screening tool through the Mental Health America is one of the quickest and easiest ways to determine if you’re experiencing symptoms of a mental health condition. The screening is free, confidential, and scientifically validated. It takes only a few minutes, doesn’t require your personal information, and you’ll see tools to help you improve your mental health. There are screening tests for depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar, postpartum depression, eating disorders, addiction, and more. Take care of yourself.
Local Resources
The greater Paducah area is fortunate to have several mental health service providers that can assist in the recovery of individuals with mental illnesses so that they can lead full and productive lives.
The Western Kentucky Mental Health Resource Directory 2023-2024 includes more than two dozen local organizations and connections to resources. This resource directory is created by the Marshall County Health Coalition and provides information about service providers in locations including Paducah, Benton, Hardin, Mayfield, Murray, and Salem.
