The City of Paducah is proud to announce the debut of a new Government 11 program, Inside the Job, offering viewers an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the daily operations of city departments and the dedicated employees who serve the community.
The first episode of Inside the Job spotlights the Paducah Police Department. Viewers will gain insight into the department’s organizational structure, training, technology, and community engagement efforts. Additional topics of discussion include the City-County project to upgrade 911 infrastructure, the deflection team, and crime statistics.
The format of this Inside of the Job episode includes each member of the Paducah Board of Commissioners contributing information and perspective about the Police Department’s role in maintaining public safety and fostering trust within the community. Furthermore, City Commissioner Dujuan Thomas takes a hands-on approach in this inaugural episode, spending one-on-one time with Paducah Police Chief Brian Laird. Together, they explore the responsibilities, challenges, and rewards of leading a modern police department dedicated to protecting and serving Paducah’s residents.
Inside the Job aims to strengthen transparency and understanding between city government and the public by showcasing the people and processes that keep Paducah running smoothly. The first episode is airing on Government 11 and available for viewing on the City of Paducah’s website and social media channels.
Inside the Job is produced through the television production facilities at West Kentucky Community and Technical College.
